About
Mary is an artist whose practice is rooted in oil paintings and graphite drawings that interact with themes of animism and self-generated symbol systems that navigate between earthly and the ethereal. Mary began her career working in animation and experiential spatial design after graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she lived and worked for many years. Mary held staff and freelance roles at multidisciplinary design studios and worked with with clients such as JP Morgan, SK-II, and Fontainebleau Hotel, and later served as a Creative Evaluator at Meta. Alongside her technical practice, Mary maintained a deep commitment to fine art - early on she interned at the Bass Museum and ICA Miami. After working in corporate design for many years Mary chose to prioritise her passion and commitment to the arts. Her curatorial and aesthetic sensibility is informed by an international upbringing and extensive travel. Mary lived for many years in New York, and lived nomadically in Paris and throughout Europe, Northern Africa, and Southeast Asia. She has since worked with New Image Art, New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) and Frieze. Mary is also an independent art advisor.
